Course Intro
Course Plan
This course is to introduce the descriptive and prescriptive rules of sentences with a focus on how different grammatical sentence structures and its function in written texts. Students will be able to identify, analyze, explain, and used different sentence structure of English used in texts.
Course objectives:
1. To offer a basic knowledge and practice of sentence structure in English.
2. To be familiar with the process of prewriting.
3. To develop grammar and mechanical skills.
*After taking the course, students are able to use grammar and mechanical skills in a controlled, contextualized environment:
1. Simple , compound, and complex sentences
2. Deal with mechanics skill, such as finding subject and verbs, using punctuation, capitalization, and spelling correctly.
Course processing:
Peer-editing techniques adopting from pair and group discussion and project work.
