This course is designed for students to be familiar with the history, the relevant theory and cultural differences between the source language and the target language. Other topics include translation methods, general procedures, and the practical techniques. Students also need to deal with the practice of translation. A wide variety of text types will be analyzed. They learn the skills from doing (translating). It is hoped that at the end of the semester, students will acquire a clear understanding of the nature of translation and implement it in their own works.
