Course Intro

Course Plan

This course provides the functions, importance and techniques of production and operations management. Students are taught by lecturing, panel and case discussion, field trip and/or project assignment, and are trained to be able to apply knowledge of production & operations management in business. This course introduces the following topics: Using Operations to Create Value, Process Strategy and Analysis, Managing Quality, Planning Capacity, Managing Process Constraints, Designing Lean Systems, Managing Effective Projects, Forecasting Demand, Managing Inventories, Planning and Scheduling Operations, Efficient Resource Planning, Designing Effective Supply Chains, Supply Chain and Logistics, Integrating the Supply Chain, and Managing Supply Chain Sustainability.
